Clear before you submit
Participation & public-use terms
This is the plain-language version for this memory call. The aim is simple: preserve a genuine elder memory, be clear that it may be published, and make any community-support selection transparent rather than turning the story into a popularity vote.
1. Who can submit
A family member, friend, neighbour or other person may record and submit an elder’s memory. The submitter must have the recorded person’s permission. If the submitter is under 18, a parent or guardian must agree to the submission.
2. What Katha Hijo Ko may do with a submitted recording
- Review and moderate it before publication.
- Edit it for length, clarity, subtitles, translation, captions, format or social-media presentation without deliberately changing the meaning of what was said.
- Publish the full recording or excerpts on Katha Hijo Ko’s website and social-media channels.
- Choose not to publish material that creates privacy, safety, accuracy, copyright or other concerns.
If something should not be public, do not include it in the recording. If the recorded person changes their mind before publication, contact Katha Hijo Ko as soon as possible. Once something has been publicly posted, third-party copies, shares or reposts may be outside Katha Hijo Ko’s control.
3. Entry is free
There is no purchase, donation, payment, membership or social-media follow required to submit. A professional camera, professional editing, likes, shares or follower count do not improve a submission’s treatment.
4. Community support for this call
Three selected memories will receive community support.
We are asking families to help preserve living history, so we also want this call to give something back. Three selected memories will receive community support for the elder or family behind the recording.
5. How the support recipients are selected
Selection is made by Katha Hijo Ko after editorial review. It is not random and it is not based on likes, views, followers, expensive equipment or polished editing. We consider the cultural or historical value and genuineness of the memory, its context, and where the support can make a meaningful difference. Nobody has to publicly perform or prove hardship. The three amounts are not first, second and third place rankings; available amounts may be assigned using support context verified privately after review.
- No one has to publicly display or prove hardship. If extra context is relevant, Katha Hijo Ko may ask privately after reviewing the story.
- The three amounts are not first, second and third place rankings. After selecting eligible memories, Katha Hijo Ko may use privately verified support context to decide which available contribution amount is assigned to each selected elder or household.
- Only one community-support amount can be assigned to the same elder or household in this campaign, although additional genuine memories may still be accepted and published.
- Katha Hijo Ko records the internal reason for each support selection so the decision can be audited later.
- A support amount cannot be assigned to two submissions.
6. Contact and payment
This call is scheduled to close on 20 September 2026. Katha Hijo Ko will contact selected recipients using the contact details supplied with the submission. No bank, wallet or payment details are requested at entry. Payment details are requested only after selection. Katha Hijo Ko will make two reasonable contact attempts; if there is no response within 14 days after the second attempt, another eligible memory may be selected. Once recipient and payment details are confirmed, Katha Hijo Ko aims to provide the advertised amount within 14 days.
7. Platform independence
This memory call is organised by Katha Hijo Ko. It is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or Google. Those services may simply be used to show, promote or receive a link to a recording.
By participating, each entrant or participant releases Instagram and Facebook from responsibility in connection with this call to the extent permitted by law.
8. Safety and fairness
Katha Hijo Ko may reject spam, duplicate or manipulated submissions; recordings submitted without permission; harmful or unlawful material; or attempts to game the community-support process. Genuine stories do not need to be dramatic. Ordinary memories are welcome.
Entry is free. No purchase or donation is required. One community-support amount may be assigned per elder or household in this campaign, although additional genuine memories may still be accepted and published. The amounts are support contributions, not a ranking of whose story is best. Selected recipients are contacted privately. Katha Hijo Ko records an internal selection reason and will provide an advertised amount once the recipient and payment details are verified. This call is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube or Google.
